About IndyShooter

Welcome all. My name is David, or as many of my friends and associates call me, DVD. Yeah, I should’ve had that copyrighted a long time ago…

Anyway…

IndyShooter is a blog developed around the workflow of an active photographer and Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom user. I have been shooting photographs for over 20 years and was an early adopter of Photoshop while I was attending college. I vaguely remember running version 2.0 way back when using an old Mac II something-or-other. Yeah, it’s been a while!

IndyShooter’s primary goal is to make using Photoshop a little more approachable for anyone who likes to take pictures. This will include tutorials, examples and general discussions of workflow and editing practices…and most likely even some tips and advice on getting good pictures to start with. Ideally, the goal of a photographer should be to get as much of the image “right” in the camera, so you don’t have to spend hours at the computer editing things that aren’t really necessary.

If you have questions or comments on any of the tutorials or posts, or just want to ask a question or say some thing about the weather, feel free to send me an email at indyshooter@gmail.com.

Most importantly – Try. Photoshop is an ENOURMOUS program. The people behind it are just mad-scientist geniuses as far as I’m concerned. One of the best ways to learn how to do stuff in photoshop is to experiment. It will be frustrating sometimes…I still get frustrated when it doesn’t do what I think it should, but eventually it starts to come together.
